Rare Opportunity to own a working Hacienda / Bed & Breakfast
This is a rare opportunity to own a Hacienda in the Yucatan! We can not describe the magnificence of this very unique and special property in this limited space, nor can we list all of the pictures we have on file. We ask that you take the time to visit this incredible piece of history. This Hacienda is not only a Mayan gift to Yucatan … it’s a gift to the world.
Situated on 60 hectors just outside of Merida. This property has many other buildings other than the main house.
The history of Hacienda San Pedro Nohpat dates back to the early sixteen hundreds. It is said, by the Mayan elders of the village that it was one of the very first haciendas built near the city of Merida. We do not know the entire history of those early years, although the Hacienda’s architecture tells its own story. The magnificent double arched main gate of the Hacienda paints the picture of at least two thousand head of cattle, a thousand per arch, which grazed the vast lands controlled by the Hacienda.
The extensive walls, and watering and irrigation systems hint at the various livestock, orchards, grain and vegetables produced by the Hacienda. The “Casa de Maquinas”(House of Machines) tells the story of the Hacienda’s involvement in the production and processing of “Green Gold”, a plant that wove the fabric of the Hacienda’s history into the 20th century.
This is a working and thriving business! Hacienda San Pedro Nohpat offers its guests facilities that include an outdoor pool with bar services, free Wi-Fi access and airport shuttle for a fee.
The master bedroom has a private bathroom with a large spa bath, floor-to-ceiling windows and plenty of natural light. It includes cable TV, a work desk and free breakfast included with the rate.
Upon request, guests can receive a private food service, or they can explore the options at Hacienda Teya, 5 minutes’ drive from San Pedro Nohpat, or at Las Susanas, an international-style restaurant 10 minutes’ drive away.
The cenotes are one of the most popular touristic attractions in the area, and a cenote site can be found within a 45-minute drive. Merida’s town centre is 20 minutes’ drive away, and the port of Progreso is 30 minutes’ drive from San Pedro Nohpat.
